Ports of Boulder

Mountain ladies always wear long dresses

Mountain men they always wear long hair

So I'll give to you my scissors, honey

Please learn how to sew

Then I'll move out to Boulder

We'll both move out to Boulder

We'll all move out to Boulder, Co-lo-rad-o

Co-lo-rad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee, daddy-o

And if you play the guitar

I hear that you can go awful far

You can sit and strum and pick that thing all day

So let's supplicate the Lord

To help me learn a couple chords

Then I'll move out to Boulder

We'll both move out to Boulder

We'll all move out to Boulder, Co-lo-rad-o

Co-lo-rad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee, daddy-o

And if we want a degree

We'll join the university

It's a great place to party anyway

So we'll borrow daddy's car

Spend his money at the bars

When I move out to Boulder

We both move out to Boulder

When we all move out to Boulder, Co-lo-rad-o

Co-lo-rad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee, daddy-o

Now I had a dream

That almost brought me tears

That all the people in the world

Decided to move out here

And the saddest thing about it

Was they all came out to stay

So the mountains got together

Packed their things and moved away

And when snow falls on the trees

We'll both get out our skis

And model our winter wardrobe on the slopes

And if we tire of the snow

We'll put that white stuff up our nose

When I move out to Boulder

We both move out to Boulder

When we all move out to Boulder, Co-lo-rad-o

Co-lo-rad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee, daddy-o

And if esoteric cults

Are what we wish to consult

We'll be blessed forever and a day

We'll get in yoga poses

Act like Buddha, Christ and Moses

When I move out to Boulder

We both move out to Boulder

When we all move out to Boulder, Co-lo-rad-o

Co-lo-rad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee, daddy-o

We don't look look quite good enough

To fit in very well

(If there're places left to fit into at all)

But we'll buy ourselves new faces

Ah, to hell with open spaces

When I move out to Boulder

We both move out to Boulder

When we all move out to Boulder, Co-lo-rad-o

Co-lo-rad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee, daddy-o

Joggers run a losing race

Against polluted air

Will fallout be the downfall of us all

In our dreams and quiet pauses

Hope we die of natural causes

When I move out to Boulder

We both move out to Boulder

When we all move out to Boulder, Co-lo-rad-o

Co-lo-rad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee-ad-ee, daddy-o

Now I had a dream

That almost brought me tears

That all the people in the world

Decided to move out here

And the saddest thing about it

Was they all came out to stay

So the mountains got together

Packed their things and moved away
